Check up day 3

Today is the 3rd time i bring my wife for checkup with the gynecologist. This time we can start to see that our baby's shape is forming and we can actually make out the head and body and the small arms and legs much more clearly. Another fascinating thing is when the doctor hits my wife's tummy softly, we can see the baby moving inside. So cool! As usual, i'm glad to see our baby growing up day by day week by week. In fact I am also tracking the pregnancy progress with my Iphone to see how the fetus should be at which month. Guess I am pretty excited bout this as this is my first time to be a Daddy.

Besides that, today had been a rainy day. In fact it had been raining non stop since last night. Some areas in Johor such as Segamat and Labis are starting to flood. What a bad timing for the Chinese families there as Chinese New Year is coming soon. Let's hope the rain stop soon and the flooding stop.

Last but not least, lets take a look at my baby. :D Daddy love you very much baby, and hope to see you soon.

Kiang Ki Bak Kut Teh

Long time no write much. Guess was busy with my lessons and exams in my new job. Anyway, it's finally weekend and Chinese New Year is coming soon. This morning however, I still had to get up early. Why is that so? Cause my wife and her brother and sisters wanted to go Kota Tinggi for Bak Kut Teh. They said that is very delicious and my wife had tried it before too.

We reach there at about 10++am in the morning and there's already a lot of customers there even tho it's at a quite ulu place. We ordered Bak Kut Teh, 'Tau Pok' and 'Mui Choy'. Later on my sister in law added another braised pig trotter. Overall, the food is not bad but it's located quite far away. Well, for food lovers I guess they won't mind traveling there.

Thaipusam

Today is Thaipusam day which is a holiday for Johor state and some other states such as Selangor and others which I can't recall. However, I got to go to work as my company is supporting Singapore side business and Thaipusam is not a holiday in Singapore. So poor us gotta work while all others rest. The only comfort is that we are getting a replacement leave and on top of that, we get double pay. Hooray for the power of money. Hehe. Anyway, my wife is on leave and she went back to her parent's house as tomorrow is her mother's 100 day death memorial where they will be going to pray, get monks and nuns to chant and of course burn her more stuffs. I would had joined them on this, but I am unable to take any leave as I just newly joined the company. Hope my mother in law will understand this in heaven.

Lastly, let me post some pics of the Thaipusam festivals celebration pictures I took as it happen to be outside my office.

Day 2 at work

Today is 2nd day of work at my new place and I was nearly late. Why? First I had tummy ache when I was about to go out this morning. This wasted about 5 mins and then I discover that the shortcut I use was blocked. That cost me another 7 - 8 mins. Worse still today jam was extra bad and that cause me another 10 mins or so. With all this, I actually forgot to bring my bag to work. Talk about a bad day.

I was extra tired today as well as I woke up at 5.50am to send my parents and my aunt & uncle to take bus to Genting. They must be enjoying the cold air at Genting now.

Back to work. Work was pretty normal as usual. Training the whole day with lots of sidetrack on other topics. So it was a pretty ordinary day at work.

After work I got home and cook instant noodle with special add ons for dinner. Want to see the end product? Here you go, Korean Noodle with added mushroom and prawns

My first day at CSOS

Today is my first day at Citigroup Sales and Outsourcing. Kinda lost on the first day and went to Level 23 to find Siva the HR officer for further instruction. I was led to wait in a room and was later joined by another new hire Praveen. Later on we were led to level 26 and met the trainer Hannah.

In the training there were 5 of us which are me, Praveen, Hiji, Nabila and Azwan. They seem pretty friendly and easy going, so I guess training is not too bad.

Today we learn about the credit cards which Citibank Singapore offers. Pretty much basic infos and the training move at a pretty slow pace. Good thing is we were let off at 6pm sharp. Hooray for punctuality. But I guess this won't happen often after the training ends.

Well, I still did not get my season parking done so I guess I will be parking outside tomorrow. Parking in city square is freaking expensive. Lucky I am entitled a season parking by the company.

Oh well, I better go to sleep now. Need to wake up super early tomorrow to send my parents to take bus as they are going to Genting. May God of Fortune be with them, but I doubt they will gamble much anyway.

老油鬼鬼@KSL City

Today went to KSL city with my wife and her sister. As usual, my wife got some craving and this time is to eat the fried doughstick (油条)and soybean milk at
老油鬼鬼 as she heard it was delicious from her colleagues. I feel that the food is not really special but my wife likes the fried doughstick very much. She even packed some for her brother.

Well, they seem quite fun, food was so so, but i think they need to upgrade their sound system already.

OCBC Flex Plan

Went back to OCBC today to settle some final stuffs like returning my uniforms, applying my leaves and also claiming the remainder of my flex plan.

Wondering what is flex plan? Well flex plan is a benefit by OCBC to their staffs upon reaching the grade of Associate8 or higher. Every year, the staff of OCBC will be allocated an amount of Flex$ and Medi$. Medi$ is where staff can claim their medical outpatient treatment fees. Any balance Medi$ will be converted to Flex$ the following year.

Flex$ is where the staffs get to claim for their expenses related to self improvement or tools which can be helpful to work such as clothes, pc, parking, car maintenance etc. It can also be used to claim for holiday trips by claiming the plane tickets. Any Flex$ not utilized will be carried forward for a year but will be forfeited the following year. Interesting benefit?

Ah Hwa Kuay Teow

Oh, today lunch alone again. Poor me. What to do? At least I get to choose what I wanna eat. Well today's lunch is Dry Noodle at Ah Hwa Kuay Teow shop. This is the branch to the super expensive Ah Hwa Kuay at town which cost RM4.50 for a small bowl, RM7.50 for a medium bowl and RM16 for a big bowl. Crazy prices. Well, the one here are more reasonable. RM4 for small, RM6 for medium, RM8 for large. But the queue here sure is long. Been waiting for 15 mins already.

Funny dream~

Hmmm, had a weird dream this morning. Dreamt that I was going to attend QCP in KL. But the weird part is those colleagues from my previous job became part of the colleagues attending QCP. Also the weird part is OCBC will let us drive up the day before. For those in OCBC JB & Molek should know that OCBC don't let us drive to save cost and always ask us to appear on same day also to save cost!

Shi Wah Bak Kut Teh Permas

New year day lunch. Ate alone at Shi Wah Bak Kut Teh. Wife at work due to Mighty Savers Weekend. Wonder if anyone knows that OCBC is actually open. For me, I don't have to go since I already tendered. My parents went for seafood at Pasir Putih with my aunt and uncle but I can't join as I got to pick my wife later. So ended up with Bak Kut Teh alone. Taste ok, but the salted vegetable had a weird taste. Could not finish it due to the weird taste. Wonder what causes it. Oh well, lets hope I don't get food poisoning. Met an old friend today at Shi Wah too. Oh well, been bumping into him frequently lately. Maybe it's just cause he stay near me. Haha.

Life of 2010

Oh wow, today is actually the first day of 2011. Also the day I decided to start this blog. Let's see how are the changes that happened in 2010.

In 2010, I was still with OCBC Bank. That year was the start of Mighty Savers weekend. A sort of nightmare for us. Why? Because we got to come back to work on every first weekend of the month for a weekend where customers rarely come. We prayed that it will be discontinued, but till today, its still around.
Simon & Sally of Mighty Savers Weekend

Well, work life wise, many of my department colleagues left us to go other places as well such as:

 Serene, who went to Singapore

Eunice, who went to Hong Leong

Chin Wei, who went to EON

Oh well, since with these departures, there are sure to come some new faces. They are:

 Karine & Jie Hui

With OCBC, we also managed to travel to different places for our so called QCP which was held every quarter of the year. In 2010, we went to:

 Thistle Hotel, Port Dickson

Renaissance Hotel Melaka.

Oh well, enough of work life. What about my personal life? Many changes happened in 2010 as well. Did went to a few places with my dear wife in 2010. There was of course travelling to a famous destination near us which is:

Universal Studio Singapore

Besides going to our neighbouring country, we went a lil further to go to :
Taiwan
Besides all these travelling and fun there are 2 important events in my life that happened in 2010, first is

My Wedding

And like any other marriage, it was follow up soon by :

But this is still a secret, that only my family and her family member knows. Looks like I'm set for a promotion in 2011. Haha.

Lastly, I would like to make a small note on the sad departure of my mother in law in 2010 too. It was unfortunate, but I believe she is living peacefully in heaven at this moment, watching over me and my wife and also the rest of the family. R.I.P.~~
