Long time no post

I guess I've gotten lazy and did not blog for some time. When I looked back at the old stuffs I blogged, i discover that all these can really be memories. When I was still blogging, my baby is still in her mummy's tummy but now she is 4 month old. When I look at how I complain bout struggling at work, I realized, times are still hard but I am earning much better as the commission scheme had improved and the team had became stronger overall. In fact, I've gotten the top team manager award for Q3.

Anyway, today was supposed to be the last working day of the year, but unfortunately I fell sick. I hope we closed off the numbers decently as this month's number is a disaster and I think I am gonna earn very few overriding and cny is coming up next month. Cny is no longer like when we are kids, we just wait and get new clothes and ang pows. Now I have to give ang pows and buy new clothes myself. Oh well, that's life I guess.

Well, let's post some pics of my dear baby girl here

Prenatal holiday. (Day 1 - KL)

Today is the last day of my long vacation. Where have I been? Well a few places. First of all, I started my trip to KL on Saturday with my wife. Before we started our journey we had dried mee poh at the famous shop near my house. Well, nothing fancy there. We set off for KL at around 8 something and we reach KL around 12. Our first stop was at Sunway pyramid. We had lunch there were we had my favorite Bar-B-Q Plaza which is a Thai steamboat that's really yummy.

Now how does that look? Yummy? Well, I think it's pretty yummy and it's a pity there's no outlet here in JB. After that, we basically shop around Sunway pyramid till 3 something. My wife was disappointed when we found out the Taiwanese Mango Shaved Ice outlet, Ice Monster was closed down, and she wanted to eat the mango shaved ice so badly. We spent quite some time at Parkson in Sunway pyramid as we wanted to buy some stuffs for our baby which is going to be born on September. Also, we found an outlet called Chatime selling Taiwanese Pearl Bubble tea which has quite a number of people queuing up to buy. We decided to queue up too to try it. Unfortunately, the quality is so so only.

After that, we decided to go and check in our hotel at Masjid Jamek. We have booked a hotel named Citing hotel and we had never been there. When we arrived there, we were shocked as there was no parking and the street below is very crowded with all sorts of people and does not seem to be a good place to stay. We decided not to stay there, especially when there is no parking and my wife called up some hotels and we finally found a reasonable hotel nearby which is Olympic Sports Hotel. It is not a very high class hotel, but it's clean and situated in a quiet place. It's a relief to find an alternative as I am 100% not gonna stay at the stupid Citin Hotel.

After taking a rest, it's dinner time. We decided to go Winsoon Cafe at Kuchai Lama for fish head bee hoon that my sister in law introduced it to us previously. My wife liked the taste when we tried it previously, so we are back for more.

After that, we went to my sister's place at Petaling Jaya to pass her some children's clothes which my parents bought for her children, Beverly & Caleigh. However, she was out at 1Utama with her family to buy a cake for Beverly whilst birthday fall on 19th May. We decided to meet up there as we wanted to continue shopping at Parkson 1Utama. There, I saw my cute little niece Beverly dressed up as a bee. She was running around and seem quite surprised to see me and my wife. Anyway, we passed the stuff to my sister and we went to explore the Parkson there. My sister in law and her bf who happen to be there met up with us there too. They bought some stuffs for our baby and also for her bf's sister who is giving birth soon. After that, my wife and I was tired out with the shopping and decided to go back to the hotel to rest.

Ho Seng Kee

Yay! Today is labour day replacement holiday. Such a good thing to let it fall on a Sunday so that we can have a long weekend.

Today I brought my wife to eat wantan mee at Ho Seng Kee noodle shop. Omg! The wait is at least half and hour. Oh well, at least it gives me time to blog then. I have not been blogging for some time due to work. Work is so busy busy as usual.

This work is so tiring

Today is a very tiring day. Month end coming and every officers rushing for their sales. We managers have to follow up with their stuffs and chase for the numbers passed down from higher management. Poor me, stuck in the mid.

Unfortunately, my team performance is not up to par yet and I doubt that I would get any overriding. Sometimes I feel so tired out working till late everyday bur yet not gaining any incentives. How to train up and motivate the officers? That is the thought that is often on my mind. Sometimes I get so frustrated that nothing seems to motivate them and some of them just dun listen to instruction. What can I do to lead them better?

Another night lying on bed thinking of these. sigh.

A Saturday Without Work

Wow, it's some time since I did not work on Saturday. Decided not to go back to office as my wife is also not working today. What we did was pretty normal actually.

In the morning, we went to Jln Lumba Kuda to eat Cathay laksa. Sad to say, the quality had dropped and it does not taste as good as last time. We also went to eat Roti Canai at a mamak shop near Bank Negara as my wife likes it. We drove around and I discover quite a bit of changes in JB town road. For one, the road in front of OCBC can now link to the seaside road in front of Bluewave hotel. That road was closed off for ages and now it's re-opened. The hotel owner must be happy on this. Hehe.
Afternoon time, we went to sing karaoke at Redbox Plaza Pelangi. Found out there's actually a member promotion where you get 1 headcount free as long as you are a DotRed cardmember which I am. Yay, saved money. Hohoho.

Night time, basically was nothing much as we just drove my wife's sisters to jusco as they are catching a movie with their aunt. Me and my wife just stroll a bit and came home.

Anyway, tomorrow is the checkup day for my wife.
Wonder if we will find out the gender of my child tomorrow. Hehe. Can't wait to know even tho I dun show it. I actually wanna see my baby n know more about him/her. :)

Luckily my wife is understanding and never complain on this. Talking bout my wife, she can feel our baby kicking her in her tummy since a few days ago. Wonder how it feels. Sure hope my baby grow healthy inside mummy.

This coming Sunday, we will be going for her checkup. This time, we might be able to find out wether my baby is a girl or a boy. Either way, I am fine, just hope both baby and mummy are healthy and fine.

Chinese New Year ending soon

Chinese New Year 2011 is ending soon with tomorrow being the 15th day of CNY also known as Chap Goh Mei. This marks the end of CNY and some have the tradition to go and throw the mandarin oranges to the sea/river. For some, it is also known as the Chinese Valentine's Day. In fact, the Ang Moh Valentine day had also just pass but it was a rather uneventful day. Why? Cause I had to work till sooooo late for my new work. In fact I am leaving office around 8+ to 9 daily. Also not to mention, Awal Muharram which is prophet Muhammad birthday was on the day after Valentine's day. For that day in Malaysia, all entertainment outlet including karaoke and cinemas had to be closed on the day before from 7pm until 7pm on the actual day. So I guess most lovers only managed to go for dinner that day. What a shame!

Back track to this weekend. What happened over the weekend. Basically many people are holding CNY open house as it is the last weekend of CNY. My ex manager at Kurnia Esther invited me to her place open house but I was unable to make it as I was attending my wife's aunt CNY open house. Basically it's a gathering of her relatives with tons of kids. On Sunday, it was my relatives from my dad's side gathering. They have this gathering every CNY at Meisan restaurant at Mutiara Hotel. I took some pics which I would share here but just a little. Dun wan to look like a photo freak that keep on snapping away. Hehe.

Chinese New Year 2011

Alas, Chinese New Year holiday is over and I had been lazy with not write on my blogs for days. Oh well, gonna write what happened for the past few days which is the Chinese New Year holiday.

On last wednesday, it was Chinese New Year's Eve and that is when everyone have their reunion dinner. Well mine is reunion lunch as always and poor me had to work till 2pm that day. Worse still, I had an examination on that day. Lucky I studied hard and managed to complete my 3 hours paper in 1 and 1/2 hour time. Hehehehe. After that I rush home to have my reunion lunch. Usually we will have steamboat but this year my
mum decided to have a normal
lunch. We had fish, abalone and broccoli, roast duck, fish maw soup and 'wu xiang'. Sigh, forgot to take picture if not I can post here. At night, I went over my in laws place with my wife and that's about it for our CNY eve.

On first day of CNY, it's a pretty lazing day where we spent most of our time at home. My small aunt and uncle dropped over but beside that it was a pretty uneventful day. During night time, i decided to catch a movie with my wife. Our initial choice was to watch All's Well End Well 2011 or I Love HK but both of them are full already. We settled for Mr. & Mrs. Incredible. It was quite a light hearted and hilarious show. Quite a good entertainment if you ask me. Oh yah, on top of that, we found out a new privilege for Citibank card holders at TGV. First you get, buy 1 free 1 movie tickets promotion on weekends and you get to buy movie tickets at RM10 on weekdays compared to the normal price RM14. Best of all, there is a priority queue for Citibank card members!

On second day, I drove my wife to visit her grandmother's place in Kluang. Her place was packed with children as her grandchildren were back to visit her for CNY. We stayed for a night there after a sumptuous dinner at a local restaurant. That night however, I stayed up till quite late playing cards with the kids. I was quite lucky and won a bit but i purposely lose back the winnings as i don't feel good about winning the kid's Angpow money.

On the third day, we hung out at my wife's grandma place to rest and also attended a buffet dinner at her uncle's place before heading back to JB at night. We reached JB around 10pm and we were both tired out.

Fourth day was the last day of the holidays. We visited my aunt who is bedridden for 2 years plus as she broke her leg and also her husband who is having senile dementia. Quite a pity to see them so but at least their children are quite filial and takes care of them and my aunt seem
quite optimistic as her leg is recovering. Night time we wanted to catch a movie again but could not get the tickets.

Finally it's today. First day back at work and first day on the floor. It's quite a busy day and I'm pretty lost as both my direct superiors are on annual leaves. At least a fellow team manager Celine taught me some stuffs. Also got to know my team members better. I think they all have the potential to do well. Let's hope I do well in my job and lead each of them to be successful.

Check up day 3

Today is the 3rd time i bring my wife for checkup with the gynecologist. This time we can start to see that our baby's shape is forming and we can actually make out the head and body and the small arms and legs much more clearly. Another fascinating thing is when the doctor hits my wife's tummy softly, we can see the baby moving inside. So cool! As usual, i'm glad to see our baby growing up day by day week by week. In fact I am also tracking the pregnancy progress with my Iphone to see how the fetus should be at which month. Guess I am pretty excited bout this as this is my first time to be a Daddy.

Besides that, today had been a rainy day. In fact it had been raining non stop since last night. Some areas in Johor such as Segamat and Labis are starting to flood. What a bad timing for the Chinese families there as Chinese New Year is coming soon. Let's hope the rain stop soon and the flooding stop.

Last but not least, lets take a look at my baby. :D Daddy love you very much baby, and hope to see you soon.

Kiang Ki Bak Kut Teh

Long time no write much. Guess was busy with my lessons and exams in my new job. Anyway, it's finally weekend and Chinese New Year is coming soon. This morning however, I still had to get up early. Why is that so? Cause my wife and her brother and sisters wanted to go Kota Tinggi for Bak Kut Teh. They said that is very delicious and my wife had tried it before too.

We reach there at about 10++am in the morning and there's already a lot of customers there even tho it's at a quite ulu place. We ordered Bak Kut Teh, 'Tau Pok' and 'Mui Choy'. Later on my sister in law added another braised pig trotter. Overall, the food is not bad but it's located quite far away. Well, for food lovers I guess they won't mind traveling there.

Thaipusam

Today is Thaipusam day which is a holiday for Johor state and some other states such as Selangor and others which I can't recall. However, I got to go to work as my company is supporting Singapore side business and Thaipusam is not a holiday in Singapore. So poor us gotta work while all others rest. The only comfort is that we are getting a replacement leave and on top of that, we get double pay. Hooray for the power of money. Hehe. Anyway, my wife is on leave and she went back to her parent's house as tomorrow is her mother's 100 day death memorial where they will be going to pray, get monks and nuns to chant and of course burn her more stuffs. I would had joined them on this, but I am unable to take any leave as I just newly joined the company. Hope my mother in law will understand this in heaven.

Lastly, let me post some pics of the Thaipusam festivals celebration pictures I took as it happen to be outside my office.

Day 2 at work

Today is 2nd day of work at my new place and I was nearly late. Why? First I had tummy ache when I was about to go out this morning. This wasted about 5 mins and then I discover that the shortcut I use was blocked. That cost me another 7 - 8 mins. Worse still today jam was extra bad and that cause me another 10 mins or so. With all this, I actually forgot to bring my bag to work. Talk about a bad day.

I was extra tired today as well as I woke up at 5.50am to send my parents and my aunt & uncle to take bus to Genting. They must be enjoying the cold air at Genting now.

Back to work. Work was pretty normal as usual. Training the whole day with lots of sidetrack on other topics. So it was a pretty ordinary day at work.

After work I got home and cook instant noodle with special add ons for dinner. Want to see the end product? Here you go, Korean Noodle with added mushroom and prawns

My first day at CSOS

Today is my first day at Citigroup Sales and Outsourcing. Kinda lost on the first day and went to Level 23 to find Siva the HR officer for further instruction. I was led to wait in a room and was later joined by another new hire Praveen. Later on we were led to level 26 and met the trainer Hannah.

In the training there were 5 of us which are me, Praveen, Hiji, Nabila and Azwan. They seem pretty friendly and easy going, so I guess training is not too bad.

Today we learn about the credit cards which Citibank Singapore offers. Pretty much basic infos and the training move at a pretty slow pace. Good thing is we were let off at 6pm sharp. Hooray for punctuality. But I guess this won't happen often after the training ends.

Well, I still did not get my season parking done so I guess I will be parking outside tomorrow. Parking in city square is freaking expensive. Lucky I am entitled a season parking by the company.

Oh well, I better go to sleep now. Need to wake up super early tomorrow to send my parents to take bus as they are going to Genting. May God of Fortune be with them, but I doubt they will gamble much anyway.

Well, they seem quite fun, food was so so, but i think they need to upgrade their sound system already.

OCBC Flex Plan

Went back to OCBC today to settle some final stuffs like returning my uniforms, applying my leaves and also claiming the remainder of my flex plan.

Wondering what is flex plan? Well flex plan is a benefit by OCBC to their staffs upon reaching the grade of Associate8 or higher. Every year, the staff of OCBC will be allocated an amount of Flex$ and Medi$. Medi$ is where staff can claim their medical outpatient treatment fees. Any balance Medi$ will be converted to Flex$ the following year.

Flex$ is where the staffs get to claim for their expenses related to self improvement or tools which can be helpful to work such as clothes, pc, parking, car maintenance etc. It can also be used to claim for holiday trips by claiming the plane tickets. Any Flex$ not utilized will be carried forward for a year but will be forfeited the following year. Interesting benefit?
